AI SEO Course: 7 Options Ranked by Skill Level and Price (2026)

Affiliate disclosure: we paid $269 for our own seat in AI SEO Rainmakers and earn a commission if you join Rainmakers through our links. That does not change the price you pay. The other six options on this page carry no affiliate link, and three of them are free.

Most lists of AI SEO courses rank by brand name. This one ranks by the two questions that decide which course fits you: how much SEO you already know, and how you like to learn. We checked every price and lesson count below by hand on 8 October 2026. We pay for one option ourselves and say which.

Short answer

$0is where most people should start

New to SEO: take a free Semrush Academy course on AI search first. It takes under an hour and costs nothing. Want a certificate for your CV: Coursera's 2026 AI SEO course by Alex Genadinik runs 2 hours across 6 modules. Already doing SEO and want a written reference: read iPullRank's AI Search Manual, free on ipullrank.com. Working SEO who wants live answers from an operator every week: AI SEO Rainmakers by Charles Floate, $319 a month on Skool as of 11 October 2026, with a 7-day refund.

Which AI SEO course should you take?

Pick by skill level first and learning style second. A beginner gets more from a free one-hour course than from a $319 community, because the community assumes you already run sites. An experienced SEO gets little from a beginner certificate, because the first half repeats what they know. Use this grid:

Best free AI SEO course

Semrush Academy is the best free start, and the AI Search Manual is the best free next step. Semrush's AI Search Operating System course by Leigh McKenzie runs 10 lessons in 41 minutes and ends with a certificate. The Academy lists several other free AI search courses of about an hour each. Expect Semrush's tools to appear in the lessons, because the course is also a product tour.

The AI Search Manual from Mike King's agency, iPullRank, is a written guide of more than 20 chapters covering query fan-out, relevance engineering and how to measure AI visibility. Charles Floate names it his number one pick on his own course list at charlesfloate.com and declines to score his own community there. When the founder of a $319 product sends you to a free one, take the advice.

Best AI SEO course for beginners

Coursera suits a beginner who wants structure and a certificate. Alex Genadinik's 2026 AI SEO course covers LLM SEO, GEO and AEO in 6 modules and about 2 hours, and Coursera showed 1,789 enrolled on 8 October 2026. You can enrol free; the certificate comes with Coursera Plus at $59 a month or $399 a year, with a 7-day free trial. Udemy is the alternative if you want to pay once and keep the course. Check the "last updated" date before you buy, because a course recorded before 2026 misses most of the AI search material.

Best AI SEO course for working SEOs

AI SEO Rainmakers is the paid AI SEO community Charles Floate launched on Skool on 10 August 2026. Rainmakers costs $319 a month as of 11 October 2026 and had 404 members with a 5.0 rating from 48 reviews that day. The price rises with each block of 25 seats, and the Skool page says the next block costs $329 or more. Your rate locks for as long as you stay.

We joined on 2 September 2026 at $269 and sat through the live Wednesday calls on 2 and 9 September. Charles stays on until every question is answered, and the three recordings we timed ran 3 hours 57 minutes combined. That call is the product. The classroom is level-gated: on day one most courses were locked, and by day three seven of ten were open. Skool now lists 14 courses and 128 modules.

Rainmakers is the wrong pick for two groups. Beginners pay $319 for material that assumes you already run sites. Compliance-heavy teams will dislike the open gray-hat lean, including a parasite SEO pipeline in the locked Dark Library. For everyone else, the full AI SEO Rainmakers review has our scores, and the curriculum page lists every course.

What an AI SEO course should teach in 2026

A useful course teaches how AI engines pick the passage they quote. Google and the chat engines lift single chunks of a page, not whole pages, so the skill is writing each section to stand alone with the answer in its first sentence. Check any syllabus for four topics: passage and chunk writing, entity consistency (one name for your brand, used the same way every time), measuring AI visibility across repeated prompts, and technical access for AI crawlers. None of that matters until a crawler can fetch the page, so test that first with our free AI search readiness checker.

Good courses also teach what to stop doing. On 7 October 2026 Charles Floate posted a check on X: count your keyword in the visible copy, then count it again in the page source. If the source count is 3 to 10 times higher, the extra copies are sitting in schema, meta tags and alt text, and they make the useful passages harder to extract. We ran it on our own homepage the next day. It came out at 3.38 times, almost all of it image alt text, and we rewrote seven alt tags to bring it under 3. That is the kind of lesson a weekly call produces and a recorded course from last year does not.

Course or community: which learning style fits you

A recorded course gives you a fixed syllabus you can finish. A community gives you answers to the problem in front of you this week, and costs more because a person has to give them. Pick a course if you need the basics in order. Pick a community if you already know the basics and your questions change faster than any course gets re-recorded. The written manual sits between the two: free, current, and with nobody to ask.

If you want a paid community but $319 is too much, our alternatives page compares five cheaper groups, and best AI SEO Skool communities ranks six.

Questions people ask

What is the best AI SEO course for beginners?

Start with a free Semrush Academy course on AI search, which takes under an hour, then take Coursera's 2026 AI SEO course by Alex Genadinik if you want a certificate. It runs about 2 hours across 6 modules. Paid communities such as AI SEO Rainmakers assume you already run sites, so they suit beginners poorly.

Is there a free AI SEO course?

Yes. Semrush Academy offers several free AI search courses with certificates, including the AI Search Operating System course at 10 lessons and 41 minutes. iPullRank publishes The AI Search Manual free on its website, with more than 20 chapters. Coursera lets you audit Alex Genadinik's course free and charges only for the certificate.

How much does AI SEO Rainmakers cost?

AI SEO Rainmakers costs $319 a month on Skool as of 11 October 2026. The price rises with each block of 25 seats and the Skool page says the next block costs $329 or more. Your rate locks while you stay subscribed, and a 7-day money-back guarantee applies if you message Charles Floate before Skool Level 3.

Is a course or a community better for learning AI SEO?

A course is better when you need the basics in a fixed order and want to finish. A community is better when you already know the basics and need answers to this week's problem from someone running live sites. Communities cost more because a person answers. Many people take a free course first and join a community later.

Does an AI SEO course come with a certificate?

Semrush Academy gives a free certificate. Coursera gives one through Coursera Plus at $59 a month or $399 a year. Udemy gives a completion certificate. Skool communities such as AI SEO Rainmakers and AI SEO Mastery Pro give none, because they are ongoing memberships rather than courses you complete.
